WHAT IS METH?

Methamphetamine—or meth—is a highly-addictive stimulant also known as “crystal,” “T,” “Tina,” “tweak,” and “glass.” Street names for meth change by geographic region and by population.  Meth can be snorted, smoked, swallowed (“parachuted”), inserted in the anus (“booty bump”), or injected intravenously (“slammed”).

Many meth users have reported using a jargon that has become code to advertise that one is looking for or in possession of meth. This is especially popular on hook-up apps and websites that sexual minority men, gay and bisexual men, frequently use where explicit drug language is prohibited. For example, the term  “Par-T” usually implies that meth is involved, and being “on deck” has been reported as code for someone who is holding meth.
